Sarah's big night
Rather than read another post, join me tonight to connect in real time. Together we'll get to know Sarah in a whole new way.
Hello friends,
I wasn’t able to compose one of my usual posts for you this week. That’s because I’ve been busy fine-tuning tonight’s presentation about Sarah. So, rather than read about Sarah today, join me online tonight, when we can connect in real time!

“The Kabbalah teaches that all the characters of the Torah are within ourselves.” -Miki Raver, Listen to Her Voice: Women of the Hebrew BibleThe story of Sarah, Abraham, and Hagar lies at the heart of three world religions and has influenced laws, literature, attitudes and biases about the role of women to this day. In this talk I will look to this foundational legend through the lenses of dreamwork, poetry, and translation to reveal a more balanced and restorative narrative.

I am very pleased to have been invited to offer this talk for the Jung Association of Western Mass. about my years-long project in which I explore the story of the first Hebrew Matriarch, Sarah, and write poetry and my own poetic translation of the biblical Hebrew in response.
In the process I have re-discovered Judaism as a wisdom tradition that is rich in feminine beauty and power along with unending spiritual treasures.
This project has become a journey of discovery on many levels, deepening my understanding of the stories of Sarah, Abraham, Hagar, and their relevance for our life and times today. It has also been a journey of hope and healing as I investigate the seeds of discord that are planted in this complex family saga, whose generations of offspring have yet to fully reconcile.
Most importantly, through writing and sharing my process in this online publication as I go along, I feel I am re-storying this tale that also has the power to heal and to lead us to a more peaceful and sustainable shared future.
I hope you can join us for this talk TONIGHT, and also, please invite a friend.
With hope,
That’s all for this week. Stay tuned for the next installment when we’ll walk deeper into the desert beside Hagar and Ishmael.
